The short answer
By resolution across all 102 games: 1080p RX 6800 +8%, 1440p RX 6800 +15%, 4K RX 6800 +14%. At 1080p, fast cards are often held back by the processor, so the gap is smaller. In a typical game at 1440p High, tested with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the RX 6800 gets about 104 FPS and the RTX 3070 about 90 FPS.
The RX 6800 has more video memory (16 GB vs 8 GB), which helps at higher resolutions. Power: 250 W vs 220 W, so the RX 6800 does more per watt.
The gap is biggest at 1440p, where the RX 6800 leads by 15%. Both suit 1440p High (60 FPS in a typical game), so choose on price, power and video memory.
1080p: RX 6800 +8% · 1440p: RX 6800 +15% · 4K: RX 6800 +14%
At 1080p, fast cards are often held back by the processor, so the gap is smaller.
